Los Delfines est-il un bon lieu de vacances pour vous ?
(MAJ 2025)
Cala'n Forcat - a place for you?
for families
Plenty to see and do within walking distances
Many attractions for younger children and Aquapark
for couples
Close to Ciutadella for livelier entertainment and moonlit harbour strolls
Has quiter locations yet close to the resorts' facilities
Close to Val des Algaiarens - a beautiful virgin beach and valley area
is located on the west of the island, just 2km west of the beautiful old city of Ciutadella. Approximately 50-60 mins., from the Airport.
Transfers
Public buses are not practical for transfer from Airport ( you must always change at Mahon bus station ) so you will need either a shared or private transfer, Taxi or Hire Car. West coast resorts are often best via a transfer rather than Taxi due to costs - taxi circa 60-70 Eur one way. We recommend Shuttle Menorca.
Menorca tips - note despite the apparent many offers in Internet there are only three licensed companies who actually provide the service on Menorca, so ensure you know who you are booking with before paying.
Los Delfines, Cala'n Forcat, Cala en Bruc and Cala en Blanes are all a collection of 'mini resorts' along this coastal stretch and merged with each other so you can easily walk to any other area. Los Delfines is the local 'resort name' for this area and is where the majority of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and entertainments are gathered - see interactive maps for details. The largest beach for this area is at Cala en Blanes, and again is a walk from any location( bus can also be used) . There are a few smaller beaches, Cala en Forcat, Calas Piques at the ends of long finger like inlets. The areas accommodation divides into package Holiday Hotels/Apartment Hotels and private villas. There is a wide variety of Bars and Restaurants across this whole area and for active children there is an Aquapark, where parents can also relax.
This is one of the most touristically developed areas on the island. Due to the 'competition' many bars, restaurants have free children's play areas to attract families with children and is a common characteristic of this whole area.
Holiday villas are mostly located amongst the residential homes in quieter areas so you can have the best of both world - plenty of activities yet peace and quiet in rented villas.
There is a local bus service into the nearby old capital of Ciutadella and the bus picks up and drops off a various points within the various neighbouring resorts. The Los Delfines area itself is compact and can be easily explored on foot being predominantely flat apart from access points to the beaches which lie in inlets.
Beaches
Main beach is at Cala en Blanes
See Photo Guide for pictures
Cala en Blanes at the eastern edge is by far the largest of the three and also has a couple of beachside cafeBars. Most people will eventually head to Cala en Blanes in the peak season as the other two beaches become 'tight'.
Cala en Forcat towards the western end of the area. A long thin inlet with a relatively small sandy areas at the rear on three inlets. Along the inlets there are sunbathing platforms which helps with the crowding on the sandy area. No facilities directly on the beach but close to local facilites.
Calas Piques At the western edge. Mobile beach bar + toilets facilities and very small rough 'sandy' area. Long inlet for swimming.
Cala en Brut/Bruc in the middle. An attractivelly cove with no beach but tastefully done concrete sunbathing platforms and access points to the sea.
The area is not blessed with beaches compared to the high standards set on Menorcan. The beach inlet at Cala Forcat is rather scarred with the unfortunate multi storey hotel built right above it.
Menorca Holiday Tip
Beach Squeeze? you have a couple of options :- use buses to get to larger west coast beaches. Bus to Ciutadella, then connect to bus with destination of Cala en Bosch or Santandria. Then you can visit beaches of Sa Caleta, Cala Blanca or Cala en Bosch.

Cala en Forcat Must See sights
Ciutadella
A taste of former elegant times with fine old spanish palaces, moorish influences, a wonderful old centre and a charming little harbour. Ciutadella was the original capital of the island lying at the western edge of the island looking out to its bigger neighbour Mallorca. A superb contrast to the beach and holiday resort. Great atmosphere and shopping and a place to wander the pedestrianised old city and its many narrow streets with hidden shops and Cafe treats. Also competes with Mahon for the title of the best music bars and venues on the island. The scene for the spectacular Sant Joan festival in June, when stunning native black horses parade through the streets and the brave try to "touch the horses' heart" as it rears in front of them.
Lined with bars and restaurants below the picturesque old town.
(note there are two harbours, a modern harbour further south and the fishing / yacht harbour ( Port Antic ) in city centre)
Cala en Forcat Boat Excursions
Nothing in resort but from nearby Ciutadella there are full day excursions to see the south west coast and virgin beaches or sunset trips on Catamaran, even a fast ferry over to Mallorca ( Alcudia ) but you will need an overnight stay before return. See things to do for full details.
Sunsets
Calan Forcat faces the mountainous north coast of Majorca there are spectacular sunsets to be enjoyed with a water side bar like Sa Puestas del Sol.

Getting About
Mahon will mostly be written on timetables, front of buses and signposts as Maó, it's local name. If you are staying longer than a week take a trip on this good network and see some of the other sights, resorts/towns and Island's attractions.
The whole area is flat and easy to walk. Bicycles can be rented from lots of supermarkets. There are regular bus services down the west coast to other resorts and beaches as well as to the west coast virgin beaches via Ciutadella. Access to all other locations via main bus station. Bus stops at Ciutadella health centre ( Canal Salut ) for Doctors - see bus timetables for full plan
Taxis from Mahon airport to Cala forcat, Cala Blanes area will be between 60 - 65 Euro one way.
Taxi to Ciutadella will be around 12-15 one way.
Cala'n Forcat Nightlife
Organised evening entertainment here is generally to be found in the resort hotels and some Bars. Mahon, Ciutadella and Es Castell however offer alot more with something for everyone, but with none of the "bing drink clubbing" to be found on Ibizia and Majorca. Menorca is not Majorca but that is why many people come here!
The entertainment is generally music acts that tour the island at larger resorts. They can be found at 'The Square' ( Aka Jimmy Hills ) an area near the centre with several bars. There is also Karaoke at Frankies Bar.
There are all night dance clubs and much more live music venues in Ciutadella.
astuces:Mahon apparaîtra généralement sous le nom local de Maó sur les horaires, à l'avant des bus et sur les panneaux. Prenez le bus pour découvrir d'autres sites touristiques, stations balnéaires et attractions de Minorque.
